Senior Data Engineer & BI Specialist

You will be responsible for designing and building scalable and efficient data warehouses to support analytics and reporting needs. Additionally, you will develop and optimize ETL pipelines by writing complex SQL queries and automating data pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow. Your role will also involve query optimization, performance tuning, and database management with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Spark for structured and semi-structured data. Ensuring data quality and governance will be a key part of your responsibilities, where you will validate, monitor, and enforce practices to maintain data accuracy, consistency, and completeness. You will implement data governance best practices, define data standards, access controls, and policies to uphold a well-governed data ecosystem. Data modeling, ETL best practices, BI dashboarding, and proposing/implementing solutions to improve existing systems will also be part of your day-to-day tasks. Collaboration and problem-solving are essential in this role as you will work independently, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and proactively troubleshoot data challenges. Experience with dbt for data transformations is considered a bonus for this position. To qualify for this role, you should have 5-7 years of experience in the data domain, with expertise in data engineering and BI. Strong SQL skills, hands-on experience with data warehouse concepts, ETL best practices, and proficiency in MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Spark are required. Experience with Apache Airflow, data modeling techniques, BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, Apache Superset, data quality frameworks, and governance policies are also essential. The ability to work independently, identify problems, and propose effective solutions is crucial.
