Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic data team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Snowflake, dbt (Data Build Tool), and Python, with a strong understanding of data architecture, transformation pipelines, and data quality principles. You will play a crucial role in building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and facilitating data-driven decision-making across the organization. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and efficient ETL/ELT pipelines using dbt, Snowflake, and Python. You will be tasked with optimizing data models and warehouse performance in Snowflake, collaborating with data analysts, scientists, and business teams to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality datasets. Ensuring data quality, governance, and compliance across pipelines, automating data workflows, and monitoring production jobs for accuracy and reliability will be key aspects of your role. Additionally, you will participate in architectural decisions, promote best practices in data engineering, maintain documentation of data pipelines, transformations, and data models, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to team knowledge sharing. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of professional experience in Data Engineering, strong hands-on experience with Snowflake (data modeling, performance tuning, security features), proven experience using dbt for data transformation and modeling, proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks and scripting, a solid understanding of SQL, and experience in building and maintaining complex queries. Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow or Prefect, familiarity with version control systems like Git, strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, and teamwork abilities are required. Preferred qualifications include experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, knowledge of data lake architecture and real-time streaming technologies, exposure to CI/CD pipelines for data deployment, and experience in agile development methodologies.
