Job Description

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Department: Finance & Accounting

Location: Gurugram, Haryana

Reports To: Accounting Manager / CFO

Job Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly financial statements.
Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the general ledger.
Have deep knowledge of Goods and service tax (except return filing)
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
Support external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.
Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
Coordinate with other departments to gather necessary financial data.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Mentor junior accounting staff and support their professional development.
Participate in system and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Masters or CPA preferred).
Minimum 6 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a corporate or public accounting environment.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of AS and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Semi Qualified CA
Familiarity with financial compliance and tax regulations.
