As a Software Development Engineer in Test III at Jumio, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality assurance of highly scalable backend systems. Your responsibilities will involve architecting, designing, and implementing robust backend automation frameworks and testing strategies to achieve high coverage, performance, and reliability. In this senior role, you will also be mentoring junior team members, collaborating closely with developers and product managers, and continuously innovating to enhance test efficiency and release velocity. By constructing scalable automation frameworks, enhancing test pipelines, and guiding others through mentorship, you will significantly influence release reliability and team productivity. Your key responsibilities will include: - Architecting, designing, and maintaining robust automation frameworks for API testing utilizing tools such as pytest, TestNG, and Postman. - Leading the implementation of comprehensive test strategies and plans based on technical specifications and business requirements. - Promoting an automation-first approach in functional, regression, performance, and integration testing. - Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid feedback cycles, particularly with Jenkins. - Mentoring and supporting junior SDETs through activities like code reviews, tooling recommendations, and technical discussions. - Contributing to test data management, mocking, and virtualization strategies to enhance test reliability and independence. - Conducting thorough quality assessments of native iOS and Android applications across a variety of mobile devices and OS versions. - Collaborating closely with developers, product owners, and QA teams to guarantee test coverage, traceability, and quality benchmarks are met. - Monitoring quality metrics, analyzing defect trends, and proactively driving improvements. In terms of experience and qualifications, the following are essential requirements: Must-Have: - 5+ years of experience in test automation for backend systems. - Strong programming skills in Java and Python with a focus on test automation. - Proficiency in RESTful APIs and backend testing strategies. - Familiarity with API testing tools like pytest, TestNG, Postman, or similar. - Strong knowledge of testing principles, SDLC, Agile methodology, and defect lifecycle. - Experience with AWS. Nice-to-Have: - Experience in mobile app testing for native iOS and Android platforms. - Familiarity with containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes. - Experience with static code analysis and test coverage tools. - Experience in building automation frameworks from scratch and integrating with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitLab. - Understanding of performance testing concepts and tools like JMeter and Gatling. You will be based at our Bangalore office in Prestige Tech Park III, working within a dynamic and collaborative engineering environment.
