It is essential to ensure hygienic and safe procedures are followed at all times to avoid contamination or infection. Before collection, you must verify the identity and necessary documentation of the individual. Your role will also involve explaining procedures to donors/patients, addressing any concerns they may have, and labeling samples accurately with the correct patient/donor information. It is crucial to ensure the timely and safe transport of samples to the laboratory for analysis. Maintaining sterile and functional equipment such as needles, syringes, and vials is a key part of your responsibilities. Monitoring inventory levels and requesting supplies as needed will be required to ensure seamless operations. You must adhere to all biosafety, infection control, and health regulations while disposing of sharps and biomedical waste according to protocols. Recording collection details in registers or software systems and preparing daily reports on collections for submission to the supervisor or lab is part of the routine. Additionally, you may be involved in setting up blood donation camps or mobile collection units, coordinating with donors, and ensuring smooth camp operations. Being prepared to manage donor reactions like dizziness, fainting, or nausea is crucial. Any incidents that occur during the collection process must be reported to the supervisor or medical officer immediately. This is a full-time position that requires at least 1 year of experience in blood sampling. A DLMT certification is preferred for this role. The work location will be in person, requiring your physical presence for the job duties.,
