Terviva is a fast-growing food and agriculture company operating in the USA, India, and Australia. We partner with farmers and communities to harvest and grow pongamia, a regenerative tree crop known for its various uses. As an indigenous crop, pongamia provides shade, medicinal remedies, vegetable oil, and soil amendments. Terviva has planted proprietary varieties of pongamia trees on over 1,500 acres and has developed sustainable food ingredients called Ponova. We are looking for a skilled R&D Research Associate to support our research efforts in plant genetics, quality, and reproductive biology. As the R&D Research Associate, you will assist with field trials, manage seed & tree inventory, conduct laboratory experiments, and collect data. You will work closely with the local Tree R&D Manager within Terviva's Trees and Impact Group. Your responsibilities will include supervising field work activities, preparing leaf samples, entering data into spreadsheets, and maintaining research facilities. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Plant Science, Horticulture, or related field, with 6+ years of experience in agricultural research. You should have a basic understanding of plant biology, the ability to work independently, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in using basic computer software. Good communication skills and willingness to travel and work outdoors in various weather conditions are essential.
