We’re looking for a dynamic team player who is driven by results and passionate about product development validation & Debugging.

A Hardware Validation and Debug Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and functionality of electronic hardware, contributing to the successful development of ups and other power electronics products .

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Capable of handling new product development project through project management cycle.
  • Able to co-ordinate with Legrand group R&D team and follow the guidelines and documents.
  • The debug and validation engineer is responsible for the troubleshooting and analyzing problems in ups, Identify issues and find root cause for them and validation to support product qualification.
  • Develop and execute validation plans to ensure that hardware components meet design specifications and standards.
  • Be able to evaluate, specify, implement, validate and troubleshoot power components: IGBTs, MOSFETs and gate drive circuits, high power capacitors, chokes/inductors, transformers etc.
  • Good knowledge on Li-Ion & VRLA battery qualification process.
  • Use various tools and equipment, such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters, to analyze and troubleshoot hardware issues.
  • Develop automated test scripts and procedures to streamline the validation process.
  • Implement test automation frameworks to increase efficiency and repeatability of tests.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of validation procedures, test results, and debugging processes.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to communicate findings and provide clear reports.
  • Collaborate with design, firmware, and software teams to address hardware-related issues
  • Ensure that hardware designs and validation processes comply with industry standards and regulations
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate best practices into the validation process
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input on potential hardware improvements.
  • Propose and implement improvements to the validation process to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Circuit analysis through laboratory implementation/testing and troubleshooting to meet resolve the customer field failures .
  • Work towards maintaining high-quality standards in hardware products.
  • Perform root cause analysis for hardware failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Optimize hardware performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Collaborate with design teams to implement improvements based on validation results.
  • Clearly communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Provide regular updates on validation progress, issues, and resolutions.
  • Stay abreast of new testing methodologies and tools to incorporate the latest advancements into the validation process
  • Diagnose and execute root cause analysis throughout the product life cycle.

Functional Competencies

  • Strong understanding of electronic circuit diagram.
  • Deep analysis and drive result capability.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Befamiliar with UPS design is preferred.
  • Knowledge on programming languages for test automation (e.g., Python, C) is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of process FMEA

Qualifications, Role Specific Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field with 5+ years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware design principles and digital/analog circuitry
  • Experience with hardware testing tools and equipment
  • Experience performing worst case circuit analysis, fault tree analysis, and FMEDA
  • Familiarity with industry standards and protocols
  • Experience in analysis, and testing of High-side, Low-side, H-bridge, and associated current and/or position feedback circuitry.
  • Experience with product launch cycles.
