Quality Analyst - Mobile App Testing

As a QA Engineer at Hive, you will play a crucial role in building and enhancing our quality assurance infrastructure and team. Your primary responsibility will be to accelerate product development by ensuring the highest quality standards are met, leading to improved products for our customers. With our development team operating at a rapid pace, the focus on quality assurance and testing has been limited. Your mission will be to change this narrative by owning the charge of quality assurance and testing, integrating it seamlessly into our culture and development processes. Our goal is to avoid any "fail whale" moments associated with Hive, and you will be at the forefront of ensuring this. You will have the autonomy to drive the testing process, take ownership of the components you work on, and actively participate from the design phase to deployment to guarantee the delivery of top-notch mobile and web applications. Moreover, you will be instrumental in leading the development of the QA team, aligning their speed and execution capabilities with our product and development teams. Your responsibilities will include acting as the quality owner for specific features/releases, creating and executing test plans and cases, reporting and tracking software defects, managing bug reports, and fostering effective collaboration within the team to achieve optimal results. You will be expected to craft detailed, well-structured test plans and cases, communicate issues and test status promptly, identify process improvements, and support the development of technical tools. To excel in this role, you should be a highly skilled engineer with a passion for ensuring software quality. Your technical expertise should earn you the respect of development teams, while your QA experience equips you to implement industry-leading processes and practices effectively. As a self-driven individual, you should be eager to apply your knowledge of QA processes and teams to make a significant impact at Hive. Ideally, you should hold a B.Tech/B.E in Computer Science or a related field, with 2-5 years of experience in testing web applications, mobile apps, testing frameworks/tools, and API services within large-scale applications. Proficiency in mobile (iOS and Android) and web technologies, manual test methodologies, test plan creation, and testing tools like Jira, TestRail, Git, and others is essential. Experience with grey box and black box testing, troubleshooting, and debugging, along with API testing using REST APIs, will be beneficial. Knowledge of performance and security testing, agile/Scrum development processes, and a proactive approach to process improvements are highly valued qualities.
