As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design of DC side electrical engineering related to medium and large-scale Solar Photovoltaic Power plants. Your primary task will be to provide cost-optimized design solutions for the arrangement of the PV plant layout. You should be familiar with energy yield simulation in PV Syst and capable of selecting Solar PV Modules types, ratings, and installation types. Additionally, you will need to determine the optimum DC rating of the plant and perform shading analysis using software tools like Sketchup. Your responsibilities will also include preparing DC, AC, Aux SLD (Single Line Diagrams) and layout designs using 3D CAD tools. You will be involved in the preparation of various drawings such as Plant Layout GA drawings, PV Array Layout, DC Cable routine layouts, and DC Grouping layout. Furthermore, you will be required to conduct PV plant Earthing Calculation adhering to standards like IEEE, BS, IS, and other related guidelines. In addition, you will be responsible for lightning risk assessment and calculations for Solar PV plant design following IEC and IEEE guidelines. You should possess the ability to size and calculate String Cable, Power Cable (DC and AC), Control & Communication Cable, and select appropriate cable accessories. Understanding and validating Solar PV inverter, HT Panel, IDT component Power / Control schematics, and BOQ will be part of your role. You will need to review and prepare technical parameters, design memoranda, and checklist preparation for the DC Component. Your duties will also involve auxiliary load calculations, pre-dispatch inspection, pre-commissioning tests, and coordination for testing and commissioning of Inverters. Moreover, you will be responsible for the preparation of SCADA Architecture DI, DO, and AI List. On the HV Side, you will be involved in the design and detailed engineering of Switchyard Single Line Diagrams, SLDs for ACDB and DCDB, and review of Switchyard Layouts. Substation calculations, component data sheets, and General Technical Parameters preparation will also be part of your responsibilities. To be successful in this role, you should preferably have a background in Consultancy / EPC with exposure to utility-scale solar PV projects. Experience in on-site DC component erections works and commissioning of the DC side of Solar plants will be an advantage. Knowledge of DC/AC/HV side Engineering Specification and Standards such as IEC, IEEE, ANSI, SEC, IS is essential. Proficiency in PV Syst, Sketchup, AutoCAD, and MS Office is required, while familiarity with tools like ETAP, Dialux, CYMCAP, WINIGS, and SKM will be beneficial. The ideal candidate for this position should hold a Masters / Bachelor's degree in engineering / technology (Electrical) with a minimum of 7+ years of experience in the design of Electrical and solar projects.
