The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching, research, and service missions of the Department of Psychology, with a focus on clinical psychology. The department is committed to providing high-quality education, fostering research excellence, and preparing students for careers in mental health, counseling, and psychological research. Responsibilities Teaching : Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in clinical psychology, including but not limited to psychological assessment, psychotherapy, psychopathology, and research methods. Develop and deliver curriculum that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical applications in clinical settings. Research : Conduct original research in clinical psychology, publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals, and present at national and international conferences. Pursue external funding to support research activities. Mentorship : Supervise student research projects, theses, and dissertations. Provide clinical supervision to students during internships and practical training in collaboration with hospitals and mental health organizations. Service : Participate in departmental and university committees, contribute to the development of departmental policies and programs, and engage in outreach activities to enhance student learning experiences. Professional Development : Stay current with developments in clinical psychology through continuous learning, attending conferences, and networking with professionals in the field. Community Engagement : Collaborate with external partners, such as hospitals, clinics, NGOs, and rehabilitation centers, to facilitate practical training and fieldwork opportunities for students. Qualifications Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in clinical psychology from a recognized university. At least 5 years of experience as an assistant professor or equivalent in a recognized institution. Demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, and service, evidenced by a strong record of publications in peer-reviewed journals. Experience in clinical practice and/or research in clinical psychology. Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a clinical psychologist, if applicable, in accordance with Indian regulations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to mentor students and collaborate with colleagues. Preferred Qualifications Experience in securing external funding for research projects, such as grants from national or international funding agencies. Active membership and participation in professional organizations related to psychology, such as the Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists or the American Psychological Association. Experience in curriculum development and program accreditation processes. Demonstrated ability to integrate practical training and research into teaching, aligning with Rama University’s emphasis on hands-on learning.
