Job Description

Job Name - Machine Shop Job Purpose Provide overall management of Machine Shop Responsible for Safe working conditions and environment in Machine shop Ensure all the operations of Machine shop are carried out within budget Job Responsibilities Administrative / Co-Ordination 1. Coordinate with SCM team to ensure timely engineering support 2. Coordinate with PM, Sheet metal , SCM and Customers for proper functioning of Machine shop 3. Interact with HR for disciplinary issues. 4. Interact with Machinists and the Planning Department to identify and implement productivity improvements on all work Execution / Implementation 1. Investigate and analyze all jobs exceeding estimated hours in order to drive continuous improvement 2. Organize workflow according to workload to meet delivery schedule and to complete assigned jobs. 3. Ensure all safety standards are followed in Machine shop 4. Schedule, plan and conduct Morning Production Meetings 5. Take all necessary actions to manage production costs and improve profitability 6. Monitor quality, accuracy, and timeliness of all orders to ensure customer commitments are met through production of high quality material that meets customer delivery expectations 7. Ensure the completion of all duties with a minimum of waste and abuse to equipment 8. Interactively manage the flow of work throughout the machine shop by ensuring the Visual Manufacturing System can accommodate the customers want date and that the resources are available as scheduled 9. Plan scheduled maintenance 10. Investigate NCR and determine the cause and a corrective action plan 11. Facilitate CFT to make problem solving projects 12. Implementing LEAN principles on shop floor People Related 1. Goal setting and performance management of the reportees. Keeping a track of their activities. Review of the work done by indirect reportees. Contribution in normalization and charting out their career path. 2. Handling grievances, issuing leaves, ensuring safety compliance at the workplace. Motivating the team members, encouraging them to participate in different employee engagement activities 3. Skill improvement of the employees and looking into their training needs. Tracking their attendance and training records and nominating based on the gaps available 4. Work prioritization and allocation based on business requirements 5. Team building through talent acquisition and knowledge enhancement 6. On the job guidance on both work related and behavioral activities 7. Maintain a positive department attitude and ensure that all employees under supervision are aligned with the company goal Strategic 1. Build and deploy robust policies, procedures, and solutions for the smooth operation and continuous improvement & Export compliance 2. Administer the functional balanced scorecard using program management flow-down Education Specialization : MBA Operations Management/ BTech Manufacturing BE Manufacturing Total Years Of Experience * 10 - 18 Required Skills Functional 1. Knowledge about the various processes like machining, tooling, NC programming and processes 2. Expert in Knowledge of aerospace industry. Expert in SAP and MS Office 3. Expert in Saksham Tools and Techniques. Expert in Compliance & Regulatory Norms and quality focus Soft Skills / Behavioral Competencies 1. Expert in Driving for Results.
