Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced and creative Automotive Plastic Product Designer with specific experience in injection moulded parts to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the manage the design and development of innovative and high-quality plastic components for a wide range of automotive applications, from concept to production.

You will collaborate closely with engineers, manufacturing specialists, collaborate with cross functional teams and other stakeholders to ensure that designs are both aesthetically, functionally meet the quality standards & also ensure manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify the customer needs thorough research and analysis or by direct interactions & deliver the products which will meet the customer requirement & also competitive.

  • Ensure product designs meet customer requirements, industry standards, and manufacturing feasibility.

  • Generate creative and innovative design concepts for automotive plastic components, including interior and exterior trim, functional parts, and advanced plastic solutions.

  • Perform feasibility studies and analyse the manufacturability and cost-effectiveness of design concepts.

  • Understand the plastic part design principles, including material selection, tolerances, and assembly methods.

  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure that designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct design reviews, DFMEA, risk assessments and present design concepts to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in automotive design, materials, and manufacturing technologies.

  • Propose improvements in departmental processes or resources according to global developments & propose induction plan to management.

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of design processes and methodologies.

  • Ensure adherence to best practices for product design, mould design, tooling, and processing techniques.

  • Manage multiple product design projects while ensuring timely delivery. Track project milestones and deliverables.

  • Establish and maintain product design standards to ensure high-quality products.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure adherence of company policies by direct reports.

  • Maintain records of KRA deliverables & prepare KRA-KPI report on monthly basis.

Qualifications & Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Product design, Automotive Design, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of automotive design principles, including aesthetics, ergonomics, and functionality.

  • Proficiency in 3D modelling software [Unigraphics NX is a must.

  • Strong understanding of plastic materials, mould design, injection mould manufacturing process and injection moulding processes.

  • Experience with DFMEA, DFM, and DFA methodologies.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Passion for automotive design and innovation.

Experience:

  • 4+ years of professional experience in automotive plastic product design.

  • Minimum 3+ years working experience in UG NX
