The opportunity: As a Team Manager at INOPC-HVDC, Chennai, you will have the responsibility of managing your team's operations, resource allocation, competence development, and people growth. Collaboration with various cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers will be essential in your role. You will have the opportunity to engage in the global market with exciting travel prospects. As part of the local management team, you will serve as a valuable sounding board within the organization. Your tasks will include analysis, risk management, and being at the forefront of various activities. Alongside the tender responsible, you will handle tender calculations and pricing models. How you'll make an impact: - Responsible for medium- to long-term resource planning and allocation based on tender and project forecasts in collaboration with the global organization. - Accountable for ensuring departmental KPIs such as on-time delivery, quality, and productivity are consistently met, while also achieving financial targets. - Review and approve techno-economic proposals for tenders and projects, focusing on risk assessment and opportunity evaluation. - Lead regular reviews and follow-ups with project teams, cross-functional departments, suppliers, and customers to ensure alignment and progress. - Oversee recruitment activities in line with the approved headcount budget. - Provide technical support and actively contribute to project execution and organizational objectives. - Conduct performance assessments and reviews for team members, setting clear, measurable targets for direct reports. - Identify individual development needs within the team and implement tailored development plans. - Recognize key competency areas and establish effective succession planning strategies. - Demonstrate and promote core values of safety and integrity by taking accountability for actions and supporting colleagues and the business. - Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines, such as ISO37001: Anti-bribery re-certification. Your Background: - BE or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering. - 13+ years of experience in Control & Protection Engineering Design & Operational work. - Knowledge in Power Systems, Control & Protection, process structuring, and process management. - Self-starter with the ability to take ownership of tasks through to completion. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
