The opportunity The Grid Integration portfolio encompasses a variety of transmission and substation applications aimed at ensuring a reliable and efficient system integration for the future digital electric network with minimal environmental impact. The portfolio includes integrated systems, solutions, and services in the DC and AC fields, such as HVDC, Substations, FACTS, Offshore Wind Connections, Semiconductors, and Power Consulting. As part of the team, your role will involve creating and finalizing bids, estimations, and quotations based on customer specifications or requirements to enhance market competitiveness and maximize the Company's margins. As a Service Sales Engineer at Hitachi Energy, you will play a crucial role in driving the service sales process in collaboration with the Service Sales Manager and/or Service Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to generate service sales opportunities and secure profitable sales within the designated area(s), focusing on installed base penetration and selling the entire Service product portfolio for Grid & Power Quality Solutions (Substations and FACTS). Job Title : AVP / VP Risk Engineering (Power Sector) Reports To : Power Practice Leader / Risk Engineering Leader India Location : Pan-India with International Travel Opportunities Travel : Approx. 70–90 days/year (domestic and global) About the Role We are looking for a highly experienced and client-focused Risk Engineer to lead and execute risk assessments for power generation assets across thermal, hydro, solar, and wind domains. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering, insurance, and risk consulting—directly engaging with senior stakeholders across operations, risk management, and engineering. As a senior member of the risk engineering team, you will conduct in-depth site surveys, support insurance placements, and develop risk mitigation strategies for some of the most significant players in the energy and infrastructure sectors. Key Responsibilities Conduct risk engineering surveys at operational power plants (thermal, hydro, solar, and wind), including: 2–3 day site visits Interviews with operations and engineering leaders Facility inspections and evaluations Prepare comprehensive engineering risk reports , including: Detailed site operations descriptions Loss prevention and mitigation analysis Risk quality rankings and actionable recommendations Property damage and business interruption loss estimations using modeling tools Support the broking and placement teams by providing engineering insights and risk evaluations for insurance submissions to international markets. Review new power projects from a construction risk and operational standpoint. Contribute to the development and management of internal risk engineering systems and knowledge frameworks.
