As a PostgreSQL Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining PostgreSQL databases to ensure their availability, performance, and security. Your daily tasks will include database installation, configuration, tuning, backup, recovery, and troubleshooting. Additionally, you will be monitoring database systems, optimizing performance, performing upgrades, and providing subject matter expertise on PostgreSQL to development teams. Qualifications for this role include proficiency in PostgreSQL database administration, installation, configuration, and maintenance. You should have experience in database tuning, optimization, and performance troubleshooting, as well as skills in backup, recovery, disaster recovery planning, and implementation. Knowledge of database security, monitoring, and auditing is essential, along with a good understanding of SQL scripting and query optimization. The ability to work collaboratively with development teams and provide PostgreSQL expertise is required. Strong analytical skills, a detail-oriented approach, and excellent problem-solving abilities are key characteristics for success in this role.
