Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Industrial Relations (IR):

  1. Union Management:
    1. Establish and maintain effective relationships with union representatives.
    2. Lead collective bargaining negotiations and agreements.
    3. Resolve disputes and grievances in a timely and constructive manner.
    4. Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  2. Conflict Resolution:
    1. Address employee issues related to workplace conditions, policies, and practices.
    2. Mediate conflicts between employees and management.
  3. Compliance:
    1. Ensure adherence to all statutory requirements, including labor laws, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
    2. Manage documentation for audits related to labor and statutory compliances.

2. Human Resources (HR):

  1. Workforce Planning & Talent Management:
    1. Drive recruitment and onboarding for plant-level positions.
    2. Ensure effective deployment of manpower as per operational needs.
    3. Identify training needs and facilitate employee skill development programs.
  2. Employee Engagement & Retention:
    1. Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to boost morale and productivity.
    2. Conduct surveys and feedback mechanisms to gauge employee satisfaction.
  3. HR Policies Implementation:
    1. Roll out and enforce HR policies and procedures at the plant level.
    2. Monitor adherence to workplace rules and regulations.

3. Labor Law Compliance:

  1. Ensure the plant complies with labor laws, including:
    1. Minimum Wage Act
    2. Factories Act
    3. Industrial Disputes Act
    4. Provident Fund and Employee State Insurance (ESI)
  2. Manage documentation and relationships with government labor authorities.

4. Performance Management:

  1. Monitor employee performance and provide feedback to improve productivity.
  2. Implement appraisal systems and processes to align individual goals with organizational objectives.

Preferred candidate profile

Minimum 10+ years of experience in HR/IR roles, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Hands-on experience in union management and labor law compliance
