Simulation and analysis such as Simulation engineering, Structural analysis, Stress analysis, Surge analysis, Computational fluid dynamics, detailed engineering services and Building envelope design and simulation. Thermal Imaging Infrared Thermography Roles & Responsibilities: Pre-Construction Phase (Cost Planning & Estimating) Issue pre-qualification questionnaires and assist the Construction Manager in managing the Preferred Supplier List. Prepare and issue tender packages and invitations to tender for each trade package, aligned with the interface matrix and resourcing plan. Develop and maintain Bills of Quantities (BOQs) or equivalent pricing documents in accordance with NRM (New Rules of Measurement) standards. • Collaborate with the design team to refine cost estimates as the design progresses, working towards a robust and approved baseline budget. Create and maintain an assumptions log to address gaps in design information; update and validate assumptions as the project evolves. Support the development of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) in coordination with the Planner and Construction Manager, aligning with the overall delivery strategy. Identify and highlight gaps or ambiguities in design information that may affect procurement or cost accuracy. Lead value engineering initiatives during design development to optimise costs while maintaining quality and scope expectations. Construction Phase (Cost Control & Reporting) Monitor and report on actual costs against the baseline budget, identifying variances and proposing corrective actions where necessary. Track subcontractor costs, commitments, change orders, and variations throughout the project lifecycle. Manage cost forecasting, including anticipated final costs and cash flow projections. Assist in the negotiation and agreement of subcontractor packages, valuations, and final accounts. Provide contract administration support using standard forms such as NEC or JCT, including change control, early warnings, payment assessments, and contractual notifications. Work collaboratively with the site team to provide ongoing commercial insights and support informed decision-making. Produce and present monthly cost reports, forecasts, and maintain an active risk register for reporting to project leadership and stakeholders. Education & Experience Requirement: Should possess 3+ years experience in Quantity Surveyor Expertise in Planswift, Bluebeam Possess Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skill. Job Title: BOQ Specialist Job Type: Full-Time (On the payroll of the Company) Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in construction estimating and quantity surveying. Job Summary: The BOQ Specialist will play a pivotal role in the preparation, review, and management of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for diverse construction projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented with excellent analytical, technical, and communication skills, coupled with a proven track record of delivering precise BOQs aligned with project specifications. This role requires proficiency in modern BOQ software and familiarity with industry standards and best practices. Key Responsibilities: Review: Evaluate BOQs prepared by internal teams or external partners for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications and industry standards. BOQ Preparation: Develop comprehensive BOQs from architectural drawings, project specifications, and related documentation, ensuring high accuracy and adherence to project requirements. Quantity Takeoff: Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications, ensuring precision in the calculation of material and labor requirements. Cost Estimation: Collaborate in the preparation of project estimates, including material, labor, and equipment costs, and assist in developing competitive tender documents. Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, project management, procurement, and construction teams, to ensure the alignment of BOQs with project objectives. Quality Control: Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure all BOQs adhere to company standards and best practices. Process Optimization: Continuously identify areas for improvement in BOQ preparation and review processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all BOQs comply with relevant legal, safety, and regulatory requirements and maintain proper documentation for audit and reference purposes. Skills and Competencies: Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard BOQ and quantity surveying software such as Bluebeam, Autodesk, PlanSwift, or equivalent tools. Deep understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and cost estimation techniques. Strong ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings. Solid knowledge of local and international standards and codes relevant to construction and quantity surveying. Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with diverse teams and stakeholders. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. Keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all BOQs and related tasks. Proactive problem-solving mindset, capable of identifying and resolving issues efficiently. Additional Qualifications (Preferred): Professional certifications in Quantity Surveying (e.g., RICS accreditation). Experience with large-scale infrastructure or commercial construction projects.
