Planning Engineer

Job Description

The Planning Engineer will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating the planning, scheduling, and execution of various high-rise residential projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and organizational skills, with a solid understanding of project management software and construction methodologies. You will work closely with the project management team to ensure timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met throughout the lifecycle of the project. You will also play a key role in coordinating with various consultants and other stakeholders to get the required project data inputs to incorporate in the planning of the project. Key Responsibilities : Project Planning & Scheduling : Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for all phases of construction, from pre-construction to handover. Prepare work breakdown structures (WBS), critical path analysis, and time-based planning to ensure on-time delivery of high-rise residential projects. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather project-specific data and incorporate it into planning. Update project timelines regularly and provide progress reports to senior management. Resource Allocation : Assist in the preparation of resource plans, including labor, equipment, and material requirements. Track and monitor resource utilization to avoid delays and optimize efficiency. Budget & Cost Control : Coordinate with the project management team to forecast, monitor, and control project costs. Analyze potential delays and propose corrective actions to avoid budget overruns. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and bottlenecks that may impact project schedules and deliverables. Work with project managers to devise risk mitigation strategies. Documentation & Reporting : Maintain comprehensive documentation, including project schedules, reports, and progress tracking tools. Prepare monthly and weekly progress reports to be presented to stakeholders. Ensure compliance with legal and safety regulations. Coordination & Communication : Liaise with various stakeholders, including architects, civil engineers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure the project is moving forward as planned. Participate in regular project meetings and provide input regarding timelines, delays, and project status. Project Evaluation & Analysis : Conduct post-project evaluations and contribute to lessons learned for continuous improvement in future projects. Required Qualifications Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of construction processes, project management, and construction methodologies. Excellent understanding of time management, cost management, and resource management. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and project management software. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Personal Attributes : Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
