As a Lead Piping Engineer at Gradiant India Private Limited in Chennai, India, you will be responsible for providing conceptual and detailed design drawings of water treatment plant piping. Your role will involve specifying piping components, valves, instruments, vessels, and other mechanical equipment. Utilizing AutoCAD Plant 3D, you will create piping routing based on Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) while optimizing skids and plant piping. Additionally, you will develop 3D models, ensuring clash-free coordination with all other disciplines. Your responsibilities will include preparing equipment layouts, skid piping GA, 2D piping layouts, isometrics, MTOs, pipe support drawings, pipe rack design input, and conducting reviews of civil and vendor drawings. You must have experience with piping design standards and layouts for water treatment plants in compliance with ANSI/IS/ASME specifications and relevant design codes. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders is essential, requiring effective communication skills in English, both verbally and in written correspondence. You will coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, vendors, and clients to ensure engineering and design quality, technical accuracy, and project timelines. Furthermore, your role involves participation in project meetings, design reviews, and progress assessments to meet project objectives. To qualify for this position, you should hold a BE in Mechanical Engineering or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of experience in the relevant field. Proficiency in Piping Knowledge and software such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, or Autodesk Navis Manager is required.
