As a Lead Software Engineer at Mastercard, you will play a crucial role in supporting applications software through programming, analysis, design, development, and delivery of software solutions. Your responsibilities will include researching alternative technical solutions for changing business needs, providing technical guidance to the project team, and ensuring project implementations and technical deliveries align with solution architectural design and best practices. You will be instrumental in designing highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and performant systems in the cloud. By liaising with stakeholders, you will gain a deep understanding of business needs and ensure that technical designs and deliveries are compliant, aligned with business requirements, infrastructure capabilities, and security & compliance standards. Your expertise will be vital in evaluating current and emerging technologies through Proof of Concepts, providing technical guidance to project teams, and supporting project scoping, sizing, prioritizing, planning, and estimation. Additionally, you will be expected to maintain services post-launch by monitoring system health, identifying and addressing operational gaps, and ensuring system reliability and velocity through sustainable incident response practices. To excel in this role, you should possess a minimum bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience, along with 10+ years of hands-on software development experience. Your familiarity with DevOps, IT Operations best practices, and data analytics will be advantageous. Strong domain knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, relational and NoSQL databases, and user interface development frameworks like Angular is essential. Your ability to communicate effectively, collaborate in a highly agile environment, and stay updated with new technologies will be key to success in this role. Furthermore, you should be willing to learn new technology stacks, support customer and production environments across different time zones, and adhere to Mastercard's security policies and practices.
