Job Description

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Soctrip's Tours vertical as P&L owner, building a marketplace for tour guides and travel agencies to list customized tours, achieving $100M annual GMV while establishing Soctrip as India's premier tours and experiences platform. 

  • Lead the entire OTA team and drive strategic direction for OTA growth 
  • Set performance targets, manage budgets, and oversee partner development and campaign success 
  • Develop and execute OTA sales and marketing strategy 
  • Manage high-level partnerships with OTA platforms 
  • Supervise all sub-teams: Sales, Admin, Campaign, and Support 
  • Analyze OTA performance reports and optimize KPIs 
  • Ensure confidentiality of seller information; take full responsibility for any damage caused to sellers/partners/users or Soctrip 
  • Do not use personal contact information (including phone numbers, email addresses, social media accounts, messaging apps, etc.) to communicate with sellers/partners/users. Only use company-approved contact details for sellers/partners/users communication and support during your employment with Soctrip and Hahalolo 

Requirements:

  • Education

    : Bachelor's degree in Tourism, Business, or related field; MBA preferred 
  • Experience

    : 8-10 years in tours/activities industry with 5+ years in leadership 
  • Technical Skills

    :  
  1. Understanding of tour marketplace platforms (Viator, GetYourGuide, Klook) 
  2. Knowledge of tour guide licensing and certification requirements 
  3. Experience with experience management systems 
  4. Understanding of commission-based marketplace models 

Key Competencies:

  • Proven track record of building tour guide networks (500+ guides) 
  • Experience with tour operator associations (IATO, TOAI, ATOAI) 
  • Understanding of tour types (cultural, adventure, food, private tours) 
  • Knowledge of tourist destinations across India 
  • Experience with 20-30% commission marketplace models 

Performance Metrics:

  • Monthly GMV target: $8.3 million 
  • Tour guide onboarding: 200+ monthly (150 individual guides, 50 agency tours) 
  • Average commission: 20-25% 
  • Tour quality rating: 4.5+/5 
  • Repeat booking rate: 30%+
