Operations Research - SCM Optimization Specialist

As an Operations Research Scientist at Tredence, your main responsibilities will involve performing data analysis and interpretation. This includes analyzing large datasets to extract meaningful insights and using Python to process, visualize, and interpret data in a clear and actionable manner. Additionally, you will be tasked with developing and implementing mathematical models to address complex business problems, as well as improving operational efficiency. You should have the ability to use solvers like CPLEX, Gurobi, FICCO Xpress, and free solvers like Pulp and Pyomo. Applying optimization techniques and heuristic methods to devise effective solutions will be a key part of your role, along with designing and implementing algorithms to solve optimization problems. Testing and validating these algorithms to ensure accuracy and efficiency are also important tasks. Collaboration and communication are essential skills in this role, as you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders, to understand requirements and deliver solutions. Presenting findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences will be part of your regular interactions. To qualify for this position, you should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in operations research, applied mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 3-8 years of professional experience in operations research, data science, or a related field is required. Proficiency in Python, including libraries such as NumPy, pandas, SciPy, and scikit-learn, as well as Pulp and Pyspark, is necessary. A strong background in mathematical modeling and optimization techniques, experience with heuristic methods and algorithm development, and the ability to analyze complex datasets and derive actionable insights are also important technical skills. Furthermore, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team are essential soft skills for this role. Preferred qualifications include experience with additional programming languages or tools such as AMPL, LINGO, and AIMMS, as well as familiarity with machine learning techniques and their applications in operations research.
