Offshore Wind Turbine Performance Engineer

Join our Offshore Service Engineering team at Siemens Gamesa and utilize your analytical skills to enhance the performance of wind turbines. You will be responsible for analyzing power generation data, supporting turbine upgrades, and investigating underperformance cases at both turbine and wind farm levels. Working closely with engineers, operations, and customer teams globally, you will provide technical insights and explore market opportunities for aftermarket solutions. Your proficiency in Python and MATLAB will be crucial in creating dynamic Power BI dashboards, automating analytics, and shaping future upgrade strategies. Your inquisitiveness, entrepreneurial spirit, and dedication to continuous improvement will be key in making a significant impact in the global renewable energy sector. Your responsibilities will include leading analytics to optimize energy production from turbines and offshore wind farms, conducting performance testing on upgrade solutions with Python and MATLAB, suggesting new test methods for aftermarket products, analyzing operational data to troubleshoot performance issues, developing automation tools and simulation models, and collaborating with various teams to drive improvements and implement new tools and procedures. We are looking for candidates with a bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical or Aerodynamics, along with 3-5 years of technical experience in data analysis using Python, MATLAB, and Minitab. Proficiency in automatic control systems, electromechanical systems, and industrial instrumentation/testing is required, as well as knowledge of databases, SCADA systems, controller systems, and industrial communications. Strong skills in Power BI dashboard and data modeling, along with experience in technical support roles within the wind or electromechanical industries, are highly desired. A collaborative, proactive, and persistent approach is essential for success in this role, as you will be working in a multicultural and matrixed environment.
