As a CommVault Backup Engineer at NTT DATA Services, you will be responsible for providing support to a data center and its "back-up/hot center" that hosts over 300 applications. With a minimum of 5-7 years of solid CommVault experience, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of data backup processes for both Windows and Linux platforms. Your primary responsibilities will include implementing CommVault Deduplication, designing and configuring IP Network, WAN, and LAN free (SAN) based data backups, and ensuring familiarity with data protection and backup recovery solutions such as virtual tape, disk to disk to tape, and data replication. Additionally, you will be involved in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting database backups for Oracle, SQL, SAP, and Exchange, as well as handling tasks related to chargeback estimation, provisioning, documentation, and reporting for management. Furthermore, you will be tasked with planning for media rotation, managing and scheduling offsite movement of backups, performing restores, monitoring backup tools, troubleshooting failures, and automating minor tasks through scripting. Your role will also involve the installation, configuration, and administration of CommVault, optimizing backup processes through multiplexing, multi-streaming, and disk staging, and contributing to disaster recovery planning for Windows and UNIX platforms. To excel in this position, you should have experience in Unix and/or Windows systems administration, configuring and maintaining NDMP backups for various NAS technologies, and administering database agents of Netbackup on Exchange and SQL Servers. Familiarity with SAN and NAS implementations of CommVault, such as NetApp, EMC-Clarion/Celera, will be advantageous in handling issues related to CommVault catalog databases, storage units, policies, de-duplication, vStorage APIs, and more. As a Support Network Attached Storage (NAS) / Netapp platform specialist, you will be responsible for managing and supporting Netapp 7-mode and cluster-mode configurations. Your expertise in Netapp Snap suite of products (Snapmirror, Virtual Storage console, SnapManager for Oracle, SnapManager for SQL etc.), ISCSI, NFS, CIFS will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the storage infrastructure. You will be involved in the configuration and support of NDMP backups between Netapp and third-party backup products, as well as storage migration from 7-mode to Cluster mode using 7TT and WFA. Additionally, your knowledge in Windows clusters, VMware troubleshooting, SQL Clustering, and Virtual storage troubleshooting will be essential in handling technical assessments and troubleshooting tasks. Collaborating with a global team, you will participate in infrastructure support and projects, including system design, planning, installations, configurations, upgrades, and planning. Your role will also involve managing Tier-3 support following ITIL practices and incident management to ensure the stability and reliability of the NAS platform in a mission-critical environment. Key Responsibilities: - Manage and maintain NetApp NAS storage systems, including configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. - Design and implement NetApp storage solutions to meet business requirements, including data protection, backup, and disaster recovery. - Provide technical support and guidance to junior administrators and other stakeholders on NetApp NAS systems. - Troubleshoot complex issues with NetApp NAS systems, including performance problems, data corruption, and connectivity issues. - Develop and maintain technical documentation on NetApp NAS systems, including Configuration Guides, Troubleshooting Procedures, and Best Practices. Requirements: - Strong understanding of NetApp NAS storage systems, including ONTAP, Clustered ONTAP, and NetApp StorageGRID. - Experience with storage administration, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting of storage systems. - Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems, including command-line interfaces and scripting. - Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
