You will be part of our high-performance engineering team that focuses on The Roku Channel (TRC), the rapidly growing Free-Ad-Supported-TV streaming service in the U.S. and Mexico. In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing TRC apps, features, and systems across multiple platforms including FireTV, GoogleTV, SamsungTV, and the web. We are looking for a self-starter with a passion for innovation, a proactive mindset for fast-paced execution, and strong problem-solving skills. Your responsibilities will include contributing to the architecture, design, and implementation of technology solutions for web-based video applications, maintaining coding standards, and following software engineering best practices. You will work towards enhancing a culture of engineering and operational excellence, focusing on innovation, user experience, reliability, security, and quality of the apps. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will participate in scoping, design, coding, testing, debugging, code reviews, and ongoing maintenance and support. To excel in this role, we are excited if you have experience in full-stack web app development using Javascript/Typescript, HTML5, CSS, and building modern web applications supporting millions of users. Your familiarity with AWS/GCP, APM and app analytics tools, Docker/Kubernetes, and various frameworks will be beneficial. A good understanding of component-based architecture, media frameworks, streaming protocols, and experience with agile methodologies, unit tests, and CI/CD practices will be valuable assets.
