As a Network Security Engineer III, you will be responsible for supporting a large-scale Firewall Migration Project, specifically transitioning firewalls from Cisco ASA to Cisco Firepower and Palo Alto Next-Gen Firewalls. You will collaborate closely with technical leads to execute migration activities, validate configurations, and provide support for post-migration troubleshooting. Your key responsibilities will include participating in the migration and configuration conversion of ASA to Palo Alto (1410 VSYS, 1410 Single Tenant & VM-Series) and ASA to Cisco Firepower with ASA Code or FTD. You will be required to perform configuration conversion using tools and manual methods, configure and validate NAT policies (Static, Dynamic), Site-to-Site VPNs and Client-to-Site VPNs (AnyConnect/Global Protect), Firewall Policies, HA, SSL VPNs, NextGen features (IPS/IDS), and have a strong understanding of change/Incident management processes. Additionally, you will conduct pre- and post-migration validation, support change windows, participate in troubleshooting during cutovers, document configurations, and migration steps, as well as collaborate with L4 engineers and stakeholders during complex migrations. Your must-have skills include hands-on experience with Cisco ASA, Cisco FTD/Firepower, and Palo Alto NGFW (including 1410, VM-Series, VSYS). You should have a strong command of Cisco ASA (ACL, VPN setup - IPSec/SSL, AnyConnect, HA Setup, NAT, Policy Management, OS Upgrade) and Palo Alto (VPN setup - IPSec/SSL, Global protect, HA Setup, NAT, Policy Management, PANOS Upgrade), as well as knowledge of routing protocols (Static, OSPF, BGP) and switching fundamentals. Experience in ASA to Palo Alto / Firepower config conversion, familiarity with tools like Expedition, Migration Manager, or similar, and solid troubleshooting and packet capture analysis skills are also essential. In terms of soft skills and professional attributes, you should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas, processes, and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong documentation abilities are necessary for creating and maintaining clear, concise technical documentation and procedures. Being flexible, proactive, and self-driven are key characteristics, demonstrating initiative, reliability, and adaptability in dynamic environments. Preferred certifications for this role include Cisco Certifications: CCNP Security / CCNP R&S and Palo Alto Certifications: PCNSA/PCNSE.,
