Asst. Category Manager for Solitaire Diamond Segment - To drive and facilitate sales at retail stores by ensuring merchandise mix in the stores and analyzing overall market trends & competition while studying the respective store catchment areas to ensure continuity in the product supply and also improve the profit margins
Category and Product Management
  • Develop the product mix and other initiative plans for the stores assigned under identified focus markets
  • Analyzing best selling products and accordingly tweak assortment plans to ensure each store has the best possible assortment
  • Plan and manage specific offer/ discount management activity along with the team
  • Manage the entire product lifecycle by doing universal rationalization
  • Propose pricing of products for the specific products which are Managed by Exception from the pricing framework
  • Participate in competitive Price Benchmarking exercise
  • New Product Introduction based on bottom-up feedback / UR Gap /Market visit
  • Maintain a dedicated product library at a design/stone level
  • Perform Sell through analysis for products at an attribute and market level
  • Manage design selection and for the finalized designs - Coordinate with NPI team for code creation
  • Analyze & Initiate the product rotation depending on high propensity of sale based on historic performance and current potential of the store/market

  • Assortment and Inventory Initiatives
  • Achieve Category Top-line Targets as per planned category-Price Band sales
  • Develop the boutique level split of category based on the sale target evaluation
  • Develop the minimum range and norms at store level based on sales plan and turn targets
  • Ensure sufficient norms to achieve sales
  • Support in cascading the norms developed across all stores and ensure deployment
  • Work with Buying team to ensure OTBs are done within prescribed TAT post receipt of stock gaps
  • Ensure Stock alignment against pre-set stock norms in line with defined assortment (model stock)

  • Collaboration with other Stakeholders
  • Gather inputs from markets to arrive at a business plan and later plan the building blocks for sale for respective product groups. Develop iterations and seek approvals on the annual store-wise product group sales mix
  • Closely co-ordinate with retail sales team on specific requirements to facilitate sales in specific product categories or in specific product designs
  • Obtain bottom-up feedback from stores and incorporate the same in new product introduction
  • Close co-ordination with manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure TAT adherence on supporting activities
  • Coordinate with Vendors for developing new designs or timely product delivery
  • Provide inputs on national level interventions targeted towards boosting sales of concerned SKUs
  • Coordinate with retail teams in rolling out interventions like exhibitions, mela\u2019s, road shows etc. to boost sales
  • Coordination with Ecom team to ensure Solitaire segment presence and bestsellers in the Website
  • Collaborate with Marketing (Communications) team to create product or category specific campaigns
  • Collaborate with Inhouse design and manufacturing team for new designs, refresher products and other product development
  • Collaborate with Stone Sourcing teams to get unavailable but required stones

  • Category Ownership to Drive Business
  • Assist in Training content development, FAB to front end - digital and other media
  • Driving growth by deploying innovative retail programs driving higher share of wallet from customers
  • Creation of Incentive programs for frontend retail teams to drive business
  • Work with Retail teams and Customer order team to ensure specific products required which are not readily available are manufactured and reach the stores in time
  • Work closely with Franchise/Business associates for specific requirements
  • Drive Primary sales for the category for stores being run as FOFO stores
  • Work Experience
  • Education Graduate (Necessary); Post Graduate (Preferred)
  • Relevant Experience 3-5 years with experience in Jewellery/fashion/garments industry
  • Behavioral Skills Customer orientation, Collaboration, Aesthetic Sense, Ownership and Accountability
  • Knowledge Product & Category management experience, Business acumen, Analytical ability
  • Programs/Software Knowledge MS Excel (Necessary); Oracle (Preferred)
