Mechanical Development Engineer (FEM/CFD)

As a Mechanical Development Engineer specializing in Finite Element Method (FEM) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), you will play a crucial role in the design, simulation, and optimization of mechanical systems and components across various stages of product development. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting structural and thermal analysis using FEM tools, performing fluid flow simulations using CFD tools, and providing simulation-driven insights to enhance performance, durability, and manufacturability of mechanical designs. To excel in this role, you must possess a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical product development with a focus on FEM and CFD. Proficiency in simulation tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, STAR-CCM+, or similar is essential, as well as experience with CAD tools like SolidWorks or CREO. A strong understanding of mechanical design principles, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science is required, along with the ability to interpret and apply engineering standards and codes. In addition to technical skills, excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication abilities are key to success in this role. Experience with scripting/automation using tools like Python or MATLAB would be advantageous. Preferred qualifications include exposure to regulated industries such as automotive or ventilation equipment, familiarity with FMEA, risk analysis, and design verification processes, as well as experience in multiphysics simulations and optimization techniques. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, preparation of technical reports and documentation, participation in design reviews and risk assessments, and staying updated on industry best practices are also integral aspects of this position.
