Job Summary:

Mechanical Design Engineer

This position requires a combination of technical proficiency, creativity, and problem-solving skills to drive innovation and efficiency in mechanical designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design & develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks or similar CAD tools.
• Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and BOMs for manufacturing.
• Work extensively with sheet metal design, fabrication, and assembly techniques.
• Ensure designs comply with automotive industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support prototype development and testing to verify design feasibility and performance.
• Optimize designs for cost-effectiveness, weight reduction, and performance improvements.
• Troubleshoot design and production challenges efficiently.
• Maintain and manage engineering documentation, revisions, and design history.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Proficiency in any CAD software for 3D modeling, assemblies, and drafting.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal design, fabrication, and welding techniques.
• Knowledge of automotive components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Hands-on experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Familiarity with PLM & ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with manufacturing processes such as: Sheet metal fabrication, Injection molding, Roto Molding, Machining, Die casting, and Vacuum Forming
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, Creo or Catia is a plus.
