As a Technical Professional in Engineering Safety at KBR's Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group, you will play a crucial role in supporting the multi-billion-dollar Plaquemines project, which involves the development of a Liquid Natural Gas export facility with a capacity of up to 20 million metric tonnes per year. Under direct supervision, you will evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, making minor adaptations and modifications as needed. Your work will impact cost containment, efficiency, profitability, and operations. Your responsibilities will include having over 10 years of experience in HSE Engineering within the Oil & Gas industry, with a deep understanding of Oil & Gas facilities, regulatory codes, and standards. You will be involved in developing and implementing Design Safety Philosophies, HSE Plans, and specifications for fire protection systems. Additionally, you will participate in Process Hazard reviews, analysis, and Third-Party Studies coordination. You will independently analyze and design Active and Passive Fire Protection systems, prepare Hazardous Area Classification documentation, and execute calculations for fire water demand. Proficiency in design software and the ability to lead and manage a team of designers and junior engineers assigned to projects will be essential. To qualify for this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related field, over 10 years of HSE Engineering experience, and proven experience in design projects for offshore and onshore facilities. Proficiency in software like PIPENET Vision, Flaresim, and DNV PHAST is highly advantageous. You will be involved in preparing datasheets, material requisitions, technical queries, technical bid evaluations, and reviewing vendor drawings and documents. Core Competencies: - Codes & Standards Compliance: Understanding of international codes and standards like ASME Section VIII Division 1/2, TEMA, and others. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work closely with other engineering disciplines, Projects, and client teams. Qualifications & Skills Required: - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 5-10 years of experience, primarily in the Oil & Gas Industry in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment. - Knowledge of pump, blower, materials, and testing requirements is advantageous. - Software Skills: Proficiency in using PV Elite and Nozzle Pro software is essential.
