Manager of Software Engineering

As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banks Global Banking Tech Group, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team s work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements and tactical best practices. Job responsibilities Participate in design and develop scalable and resilient systems in a timely manner using Document Automation tool - Use HotDocs to contribute to continual, iterative improvements for product teams Design, write, comment and unit test code to confirm software modules are of the highest quality Collaborate with teams in multiple regions and time zones Participate in scrum team stand-ups, code reviews and other ceremonies, contribute to task completion and blocker resolution within your team Maintain technical acumen by pursuing formal and informal learning opportunities about technology, JPMorgan Chase products and financial services Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to improve delivery flow across product and technology Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience Minimum of 8+ years of Application work experience throughout the entire Software Development Lifecycle Experience with HotDocs Document Automation vendor software or similar template based program development tools Familiarity with Agile concepts including Scrum, JIRA Issue Tracking and Sprint Retrospectives Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and its various uses Familiarity with Tortoise-Git, JIRA, BitBucket as change management tools Use of Notepad ++ to read, understand and modify XML files Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Strong testing and debugging skills, strong focus on project delivery Experience in creating and managing development work plans, knowledge of version control practices and procedures Passion and ability to learn new technology and software tools Ability to function in small team environment without daily direction needed Being a Team Player sharing information on tasks and challenges with the team daily and taking advantage of learning and teaching opportunities.
