Role - FE-SEM Technical Assistant Job Description Imaging of samples (metallic, dielectric/insulating, nano structured) using Field Emission Scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM. Model: TESSCN-MIRA) received through G-Equip and ISTEM portals Understanding FE-SEM Users requirements and communicating with users effectively. Preparing logbooks and updating log books with data entry of samples received in day to basis and also instrument working condition and operation status Operation of FE-SEM in various modes of imaging and analysis (that includes EDAX: Energy Dispersive X-ray Analysis) Educating faculty and students in sample preparation suitable for FE-SEM imaging, that includes biological samples. Trouble shooting FE-SEM in case of malfunction with the assistance of Service engineers from M/s LABINDIA Instruments Pvt. Ltd. (local representative for TESSCAN) Basic knowledge on Vacuum Systems (e.g. Rotary pump and Turbo Molecular pump) and proper operation Operation of portable carbon and gold sputtering units Maintenance Nitrogen, Argon and Air gas lines Basic knowledge on power supply and back system (UPS) Supporting the faculty in-charge in conducting workshops and lab visits Should be willing to work in 2 nd shift (4PM to 11PM on working days and 8AM to 6PM on Saturday) Education M.Sc Degree in Physics/Materials Science with experience in Handling SEM is preferred. PhD in Physics/Materials sciences with hands on experience in SEM is preferred. Experience Experience in Handling SEM, Sample Preparation suitable for SEM Imaging, Image acquisition at different magnifications, Image Analysis and interpretation is desirable
