Job Summary: The Legal & Compliance Executive will act as a key liaison between the company and regulatory bodies, legal counsel, and government authorities. This role is responsible for managing legal documentation, regulatory compliance, license applications and renewals, and supporting the company in legal matters, hearings, and contract administration. Key Responsibilities:Regulatory Liaison & Compliance: Liaise with government departments and regulatory authorities to apply for, obtain, and renew statutory approvals, licenses, and permits (e.g., Factory License, BIS Hallmarking, Shops & Establishment, etc.). Ensure full compliance with various laws applicable to the company including: Factories Act, 1948 Shops and Establishment Act (Gumasta Dhara) Minimum Wages Act, 1948 EPF & ESI Acts Industrial Disputes Act, Payment of Wages Act, and other Labour Laws Environmental and Pollution Control Laws BIS Hallmarking Regulations, Legal Metrology, POSH Compliance , etc. Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain and periodically update all legal registers, licenses, contracts, and statutory documents as required by applicable acts. Verify and monitor the company’s compliance with labour-related registers (Bonus, Gratuity, PF, ESI, etc.). Ensure timely filings with local/state/central authorities. Legal Agreements & Contracts: Draft, review, and revise: NDAs, MOUs Vendor/Job Work Agreements Franchise and Lease Agreements Other legal contracts in line with company policies and laws. Ensure enforceability and legal validity of all agreements. Legal Risk Management: Identify legal and compliance risks and propose preventive or corrective actions. Educate internal departments about compliance obligations and disseminate policies to increase legal awareness across the organization. Legal Proceedings & Representation: Respond to legal notices, queries, and regulatory correspondences . File cases, attend legal hearings, arbitrations, or government meetings on behalf of the company. Coordinate with external lawyers, authorities, and local bodies (Municipal Corporations, Societies, etc.). Litigation Support: Prepare and submit documentation, evidence, and reports required for legal proceedings. Assist in drafting legal notices and replies . Maintain organized records of all legal communication and litigation history. Candidate Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LLB/LLM preferred). 3+ years of experience in legal and compliance functions , preferably in a corporate or manufacturing setup. Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws, environmental laws, corporate law, and regulatory frameworks. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and legal research skills. Ability to work independently and handle multiple legal matters with attention to detail. Proficient in MS Office and legal documentation tools.
