Job Description

Role: Lead Primary/ Secondary/ Instrumentation Design- (Oil & Gas Project) Interview Location: Faridabad/ Pune Work Location: Saudi Experience: 7 - 12 Years Key Responsibilities: Primary Design (HV/MV Substation Engineering): Lead the layout and design of HV/MV substations (typically 132/33kV, 33/11kV) within oil & gas facilities. Specify and review major equipment (e.g., GIS/AIS switchgear, power transformers, circuit breakers, isolators, surge arresters). Develop general arrangement (GA) drawings, earthing & lightning protection schemes, lighting layouts, and cable trench designs. Ensure compliance with oil & gas industry standards (API, IEC, Shell DEPs, etc.) and hazardous area zoning (ATEX/IECEx). Secondary Design (Protection & Control): Develop protection philosophies aligned with process plant criticality. Design control and protection schemes including SLDs, logic diagrams, wiring schematics, panel layouts, and interlock arrangements. Integrate with SCADA, ESD, F&G, and DCS systems ensuring reliable data exchange and plant control. Coordinate relay settings and testing philosophies with commissioning teams. Instrumentation Interface: Support electrical instrumentation selection for substation auxiliaries (e.g., temperature sensors, pressure switches, monitoring relays). Review loop drawings, hook-up diagrams, and instrumentation termination details for substation control panels. Ensure compatibility with field instruments, analyzers, and third-party packages requiring power/control feeds. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering. 7+ years of experience in the oil & gas sector, with proven expertise in substation design and integration. Proficient in tools such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP, DIGSI, and SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL). Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, API, and relevant oil & gas project standards/specifications.
