Lead Backend Developer - Python

You will be responsible for designing and implementing software for Cigna's Provider Technology organization, focusing on enhancing the provider experience through various initiatives. Your role will involve providing support to end-users by resolving issues, addressing queries, and assisting in analyzing and interpreting results from models. Additionally, you will be developing, coding, and unit testing with a variety of cloud services and infrastructure code using Terraform, building ETL solutions with Python / PySpark, and establishing testing automation pipelines. Participating in peer code reviews, developing reusable infrastructure code, engaging in technical design discussions with other developers, managers, and architects, and managing application pipelines using JENKINS for moving applications to higher environments will be part of your responsibilities. You will contribute to production support activities, follow Cloud COE guidelines for production deployment and maintenance in AWS, conduct application demos for business users and Product Owners, and collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements. Your role will also involve participating in Program Increment (PI) planning, user stories grooming, daily stand-up meetings following Agile Methodology, writing SQL stored procedures and queries, creating technical documents, and adhering to best practices for Guarantee Managements tools and applications. The ideal candidate should possess excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills, along with strong communication abilities. A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience, along with 5-8 years of relevant experience, is required. Experience in Full Stack Python / PySpark development, hands-on AWS Cloud Services experience, CI/CD tools proficiency, and familiarity with Microservice Architecture are necessary. Exposure to SOLID principles, Architectural Patterns, Development Best Practices, and Agile/Scrum methodologies is essential. Desired qualifications include experience in Event Driven Architecture, Security Engineering, AWS IAM Principles, Kafka, NoSQL Solutions, Databricks, Application development, software development in Java, and proficiency in React or NodeJS client-side languages and frameworks.
