Lead Application Engineer

As a Lead Application Engineer at Ansys, you will have the opportunity to pioneer the future of engineering by partnering with customers to tackle engineering challenges, seamlessly integrate Ansys software into their workflows, and shape the Ansys product roadmap. Your role will involve designing and implementing automation workflows using PyAnsys to enhance Ansys customer experiences, leading user enablement for scripting and automation solutions, integrating generative AI for efficient code generation, and overseeing/mentoring teams to deliver innovative simulation tools within customer workflows. Your responsibilities will include coordinating and executing technical activities during sales opportunities, designing, developing, and deploying automation workflows for Ansys customers using PyAnsys, leading user enablement of Ansys PyAnsys-based scripting and automation solutions, testing and integrating generative AI for PyAnsys code generation applications, leading project teams to develop and integrate differentiating simulation solutions within customer design workflows, interacting with customers to understand their business initiatives and recommending appropriate Ansys solutions, collaborating with Ansys product development teams to refine the product roadmap and develop best practices, providing technical support and training to end-users and junior team members, mentoring junior engineers, and documenting technical guidelines for end-users and maintenance teams. To be successful in this role, you should have a BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical/Chemical/Aerospace/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields with the respective years of experience. You should have at least 4 years of experience in application engineering, customer support, or consulting services customer facing roles using engineering software, demonstrated use of Ansys software or familiarity with commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages, and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes, a good understanding of GitHub/DevOps methodologies and engineering practices, and proven track record in delivering exceptional outcomes and integrating software solutions within customer workflows. Additionally, you should possess logical problem-solving skills, strong mentoring capabilities, and excellent communication skills in English. Preferred qualifications include advanced education and experience as previously detailed, combined with a familiarity in application engineering and customer support roles, subject matter expertise in one or more disciplines within Ansys scope, strong multitasking abilities in fast-paced environments, a sense of urgency, professionalism, and the ability to travel as required.
