Job Title: Product Engineer - Design & Documentation Location: Bangalore, India Company: Duroflex Role Overview Duroflex is looking for a Product Engineer - Design & Documentation to support the end-to- end product development lifecycle, from design documentation to manufacturing execution. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in furniture/mattress design, proficiency in CAD software, and experience in working with cross-functional teams to bring innovative products to market. Key Responsibilities Design & Product Documentation Create and maintain detailed product design documentation, engineering drawings, and specifications. Ensure accuracy in Bill of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation for manufacturing. Technical Support for Product Development Collaborate with design and R&D teams to translate concepts into manufacturable products. Assist in the development and prototyping of new furniture/mattress designs. Manufacturing Coordination & Process Optimization Work closely with vendors and in-house production teams to ensure smooth product execution. Develop assembly instructions and quality control parameters to maintain production efficiency. Material & Process Expertise Strong understanding of materials like wood, engineered wood, upholstery, foams, and fabrics. Knowledge of sheet metal processing, woodworking techniques, and upholstery manufacturing. Reverse Engineering & Continuous Improvement Conduct reverse engineering studies to improve product designs and optimize costs. Implement design modifications to enhance functionality and durability. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance Coordinate with supply chain, marketing, and operations teams to align product development with business objectives. Ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and quality standards in product designs. Prototyping & Validation Oversee prototyping and validation processes, ensuring designs meet functional and aesthetic standards. Participate in frequent site visits to monitor production and resolve design challenges. Key Skills & Qualifications Education: B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field. Experience: 4-6 years in furniture/mattress design and engineering. Software Proficiency: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino, SketchUp. Industry Experience: Furniture & mattress manufacturing industry Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration, and problem-solving abilities. Why Join Duroflex?
