Location: Freeport, TX Unit: Purchasing Staffing Requisition #: Classification: Exempt Number of Positions: 1 Position Purchasing Manager Reports To Corporate Purchasing Director Essential Duties And Responsibilities Supervises the day-to-day activities in the department. Develops, evaluates, and maintains strong supplier relationships, negotiating terms, costs, and service-level agreements. Conducts supplier performance reviews and work to mitigate supply risks. Leads sourcing initiatives for indirect procurement categories, including MRO supplies, capital equipment, facility services, and IT. Drives cost savings through effective negotiation strategies, demand management, and supplier consolidation. Creates, reviews, and manages contracts for indirect goods and services, ensuring compliance with company standards and best practices. Identifies cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies that reduce expenses while maintaining or improving service quality. Monitors market trends and adjust strategies as needed. Works closely with internal departments, including production, maintenance, and finance, to understand and fulfill purchasing needs. Partners with engineering to support capital projects with necessary equipment and services. Analyzes spend data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and potential process improvements. Prepares regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings. Develops and implements procurement best practices and strategies for continuous improvement, including sourcing, purchasing procedures, and supplier development. Participates in and conducts supplier audits. Reviews invoices to make sure accurate tax credit, correct terms, price and quantity are given. Audits all purchase orders and requisitions for clear, correct and specific information necessary. Participates in morning staff meetings as necessary. Develops and implements procurement best practices and strategies for continuous improvement. Performs other duties as required. Required Education and Experience: College Degree, Business or equivalent. Preferred Five to seven years of experience in purchasing, procurement or related field. Skills/Abilities Microsoft Office applications required. Ability to understand/read legal contracts and ability to negotiate the legal terms. Understand/use indexes Raw material purchasing experience Well-developed interpersonal, oral communication, and writing skills. Flexible, adaptable, and organized; can handle numerous tasks simultaneously without losing focus; ability to properly prioritize work. Detail minded and delivers quality work products. High commitment to work processes, procedures, and systems. Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regularly required to work in an office environment which may include long periods of sitting. Occasionally required push, pull, bend, climb, and perform long periods of standing and walking on cement foundations. Occasionally required to stoop and kneel. Occasionally required to climb stairs. Use of PPE required in specific areas. Job Summary Shintech Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Emergency Response and Security Specialist to join our team. This role is to facilitate the development, implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive emergency service and security program and provide leadership and technical expertise in keeping the Freeport site in a state of readiness for emergencies and security Key Responsibilities Develops and maintains comprehensive emergency services and security programs and processes in support of the company HeSS policies and regulatory requirements. Support emergency services and security program implementation processes. Develops emergency service and security programs compliance calendar and monitors site performance. Provides technical EHS expertise (specifically emergency response & security) and coaching to facilitate broad accountability of the EHS process to maintain a state of response readiness. Leads the effective implementation and utilization of risk assessment and risk prediction processes at the site to ensure risks are identified, mitigated, and effectively communicated / understood by all affected employees. Develops and maintains site confined space rescue plan library. Develops process for confined space pre-entry review. Develops and maintains site fire pre-plans. Develops training agenda for by September 1st each year. Develop and execute site drill program for Emergency Services, Mustering/headcount and emergency/security drills. Develops effective working relationships with the local CAER Group, LEPC and Brazoria County Emergency Management Services community and regulatory agencies as appropriate and facilitates the sharing of programs, procedures, tools, and successfully demonstrated practices within the local community and industry emergency response community. Ensure emergency response systems are tested, inspected and repaired as required by recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices. Recruit, Maintain and Supervise Emergency Response Team during facility emergencies, drills and training exercises to ensure facility requirements are being met and/or surpassed. Develop and maintain emergency operations center and critical supplies for function. Develop Emergency Service KPI’s. Participates in investigations as assigned. Provide insight and technical guidance to department manager and other site members as necessary. Maintain security headcount and man gates as scheduled or otherwise requested. Review security software and hardware for performance and resolve deficiencies in a timely manner. Review site post orders and develop processes to monitor compliance. Site security processes and protocol enforced. Investigate and Report security incidents to site Facility Security Officer (Safety, Health and Security Manager). Works with contract security manager to review and audit programs. Develop security program KPI. Participates in investigations to determine root cause and identify preventive measures. Complies with all environmental permits at the site. Customer service orientation. Provides guidance by participating in capital reviews consistent with the level of SHE expertise required. Responsible with spending request. Qualifications BS – Engineering, Safety, or other relevant technical degree or 8+ years Safety and Health experience in manufacturing or related field will be considered Fire fighter or other emergency services work license or certification. We have an exciting opportunity for an I & E Maintenance Technician at our Freeport, TX location! Primary Function The Instrument and Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the maintenance and repair services of all instruments, control systems, electrical equipment and/or process analyzers at the facility. As a support service provider, this role requires the ability to successfully collaborate across multiple departments. Duties & Responsibilities Employee may be called upon to perform any or all of the following functions: Develop the scope of each work order. Procure all required material, outside contract services, rental equipment and specialized tools to include emphasis on all the requirements of company specification and PSM programs. Coordinates and performs repairs of instrument and electrical systems throughout the plants. Meets daily with production, engineering and management personnel to review work orders for instrument and electrical repairs. Provide responsive maintenance services to the site by completing scheduled work orders. Proactively inspects operating areas making note of needed repairs. Provide guidance to contract maintenance and construction projects, as assigned. Calibrates and trouble shoots systems using drawings, field inspections, system readings, and input from other departments. Make recommendations to the Maintenance Team on any corrective measures that will result in greater efficiency, quality and economy of operations. Maintains preventative maintenance and maintenance programs including: scheduling, preparing paperwork, updating and filing. Performs technical diagnosis and repair of site assets in the most cost-efficient manner. Ensures tools, parts, and all equipment are safe and in effective working order. Responsible for communicating and securing work permits and associated safety equipment to perform work. Maintains good housekeeping in maintenance shop and assigned work site. Accountable for parts checked out of inventory, salvage of good parts and proper disposal of bad parts. Inspects repairs to ensure work is complete and any anticipated changes are conveyed to engineering and management. Ensures daily work meets EHS compliance and supports continuous improvement in EHS performance. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent and two years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in an Industrial or Chemical Manufacturing Environment is required. An Associate’s degree in Instrumentation, Engineering, Electrical Technology or similar concentration is preferred. Two or more years of experience in inspecting, testing, adjusting and repair of electric, electronic, mechanical and pneumatic instruments is preferred. Experience with typical industrial low voltage systems, wiring schematics and loop drawings, 480v motors and switch gear. Job Qualifications Knowledge of relevant technical equipment, reliability drivers and troubleshooting techniques. Knowledge of PLC and variable speed drives. Knowledge of EHS and process safety standards, regulations and best practices. Knowledge of industry accepted maintenance standards, procedures, and accepted best practices. Ability to apply problem solving techniques to improve work assignment efficiency and effectiveness. Exercise sound decision making, and judgment aligned with department objectives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to modify individual approach situationally. Ability to work overtime and on nights, weekends, or holidays, as necessary. Physical Requirements Candidate must be able to: Lift up-to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds frequently. Stand or walk for extended periods of time. Climb stairs/ladders and work at heights. Comply with respirator fit tests (where applicable). Bend, reach, and stoop frequently.
