With a workforce of over 1200 employees (200 permanent and 1000 contractual), the role demands expertise in workforce planning, industrial practices, labor compliance, and building scalable systems to support future expansions. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with the business objectives of the steel plant. Plan and implement HR processes to support upcoming plant expansions over 6-month phases. Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and career development for both permanent and contractual staff. Implement robust contract labor management systems, ensuring full compliance under CLRA, MW Act, PF, ESIC, etc. Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives for a diverse workforce. Ensure 100% statutory compliance and prepare for future certifications like SA 8000 or ISO. Manage payroll, time and attendance systems manually until ERP systems are adopted. Liaise with external agencies, legal bodies, government departments, and community leaders. Build safety-focused and legally compliant workforce practices in collaboration with EHS leadership. Create SOPs and policies from scratch given the absence of legacy HR systems or ERP. Candidate Profile Education: Full-time MBA/PGDM in HR (LLB preferred for legal and compliance focus) Experience: Minimum 15 years in HR, including 5+ years in a leadership role at a manufacturing plant (steel industry preferred) · Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws, compliance, and contract labor practices. Ability to build HR processes, dashboards, and systems from scratch. Hands-on approach with a problem-solving mindset and field-level engagement. Proficient in Hindi and English, able to communicate effectively across levels. Capable of leading during rapid scale-up phases and setting up new HR frameworks. The candidate will manage core accounting functions, project finance, capex budgeting, ESG finance, and sustainability reporting, while ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations. The role demands proficiency in SAP ERP, cross-functional coordination, and inter-unit travel. Key Responsibilities Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements as per IND-AS. Ensure statutory compliance with Companies Act, GST, Income Tax, and MCA regulations. Coordinate with auditors and resolve audit queries. Prepare financial feasibility reports, cash flow analysis, and funding models for new capex projects. Track and monitor project expenditures against budget. Liaise with banks/financial institutions for project financing. Drive annual budgeting and cost optimization strategies with procurement and operations. Handle GST, TDS, income tax filings, and maintain documentation for credits and subsidies. Oversee inventory valuation, asset register, and scrap recovery reporting. Utilize SAP ERP (FI/CO modules) for financial reporting and internal controls. Supervise accounts team and coordinate with HO and other units. Prepare and present monthly MIS dashboards and financial analysis to management.
