IoT Application Engineer

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer with deep expertise in industrial communication protocols (e.g., MODBUS, EtherNet/ProfNet) and system integration across multi-vendor environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and commissioning automation solutions, including integration with PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, SCADA, and third-party systems such as energy meters, robotics, and MES/ERP platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and commission industrial automation solutions using PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
• Configure and implement industrial protocols such as MODBUS (RTU/TCP), EtherNet/IP, OPC UA/DA, Profibus/Profinet.
• Perform complete commissioning of PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs, ensuring reliable system functionality.
• Integrate and ensure reliable communication with third-party devices and systems (e.g., energy meters, HVAC, fire panels, barcode/RFID, robotics).
• Create and maintain communication mappings, interface documentation, and control logic specifications.
• Collaborate with electrical and IT teams to ensure proper network architecture and system performance.
• Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and upgrades on control systems and industrial networks.
• Ensure all solutions comply with industry safety standards and cybersecurity practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in industrial automation projects.
• Strong hands-on experience in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, or Mitsubishi).
• Familiarity with SCADA/HMI platforms such as Wonderware, Ignition, FactoryTalk View, iFIX.
• Strong knowledge of industrial protocols: MODBUS (RTU/TCP), EtherNet/IP, OPC.
• Experience in field communication integration with VFDs, sensors, and I/O modules.
• Good understanding of panel wiring, I/O configuration, and instrumentation.
