Role & responsibilities

Job Description

This role involves

• Hands-on work at bench scales
• Plan experiment in consultation with scientists.
• Prepare shake flasks for the experiment.
• Execute experiment as per plan.
• Carry out in-process analysis as per experimental sampling plan
• Collect, record fermentation run and analytical data.
• Compile experimental data.
• Analyse data and discuss with team to draw insights
• Support assaying customer samples using a variety of biochemical and analytical techniques
• Maintain lab and equipment clean, safe and usable.
• Maintain lab inventory for seamless functioning of the lab

Required Qualifications:

• Masters degree (with 2 - years of experience) in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bio Engineering, Agriculture Engineering, Cereal Science, or a related field
• Strong technical foundation, ideally including industrial biotechnology processes, and the application of enzymes in an industrial setting
• Experience performing bench-scale experiments to evaluate the use of enzymes and/or yeast in industrial biotechnology applications
• Experience with analytical techniques relevant for monitoring bioprocesses (HPLC, biochemical assays, compositional analyses, etc)
• Experience with data analysis using Microsoft excel
• Strong interpersonal, partnership, and leadership skills with the ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and drive projects to completion
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with enzymes and/or yeast relevant for corn and starch processing and ethanol fermentation (amylases, proteases, fiber-hydrolyzing enzymes, lipases, etc
