Role & responsibilities Technical Writers for Microsoft CE&S Content Team We are looking for Technical Writers with excellent English writing skills to join our Managed Service that supports the Microsoft CE&S content team supporting Azure, Endpoint Management/System Center, Dynamics/Power Platform, Developer products, SQL, Windows Server, and related content. In this role, you will be responsible for working on a variety of content tasks and deliverables. These items could include various content deliverables (i.e. getting started, quick starts, how to, tutorials, samples, concepts, and reference documentation) for Microsoft products and services. This is a permanent remote work opportunity and preference will be given to candidates who can start within one month timeframe. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain technical documentation for earn.microsoft.com. Updating and improving existing content, developing new content, and ensuring the content adheres to Microsofts content standards, principles and style Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information and ensure accuracy. Use GitHub to manage and publish content. Write clear, concise, and engaging content tailored to IT professionals. Ensure all documentation meets industry standards and is easy to understand. Continuously update and improve existing documentation based on feedback and new developments. Preferred candidate profile 2-5 years of experience writing for a technical audience (i.e. developer and IT pros) Strong understanding of one or more of the following technologies: Azure, Endpoint Management/System Center, Dynamics/Power Platform, Developer products, SQL, Windows Server. Experience identifying missing information from provided drafts. Experience working with SME stakeholders to develop content from scratch or improve existing content. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Proactive communicator and flexibility to work on a variety of projects. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, Technical Communications, English Literature, or equivalent work experience. Preferred Qualifications (good to have skills though not a must): Experience writing for learn.microsoft.com or similar platforms. Knowledge of SEO best practices for technical content. Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable. Experience with GitHub and content management systems.
