Position Summary: The Senior I&C Designer designs and develops layouts for Control systems for Building Automation Systems (BAS), Manufacturing Automation Systems (MAS), including but not limited to HVAC, Electrical, Manufacturing Tools, Water Treatment, Chemical Treatment, Life Safety, etc. Assists in the production of design documents. This position requires advanced knowledge of I&C equipment and local building codes. Independently contributes to complex aspects of a project. Essential Duties & responsibilities: I&C Designers have duties and responsibilities that focus on safety, sustainable design, and quality assurance. They design, develop control systems documents. I&C Designers provide support for I&C work in the manufacturing, and construction industries. Their duties and responsibilities include: Assures that drawings and designs are in accordance with company production and design standards. Develop panel layout, control schematics, Loops, and wiring drawing Develops & provides Process and Instrumentations Drawings with the assistance of I&C, Process & Mechanical Engineering. Conduct design calculations such as power supply sizing and cable sizing Develop typical I&C Installation Details Develops and provides drawings for own designs and produces sketches to incorporate in drawings. Writes scope of work for I&C design based on preliminary review and meetings with the client. Inspecting I&C components before, during, and after the I&C systems installation. Maintains company drawings, templates, and standards current with applicable local codes. Trains and mentors I&C Designer I and II on multiple design approaches and methods. Acts as a liaisonbetween I&C department and other departments and disciplines including Process / HVAC / Piping / EHS / Automation / C&Q / Procurement. Interacts with and presents to contractors and clients. Represents department and provides updates on I&C work in company/project meetings. Educational Experience: Associate degree and/or post high school training in Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CAD) and 3+ years experience.

This role is to work as part of WSP Integrated Complementary Resource Centre (iCRC) Engineering team and taking a role in the production of detailed Instrumentation & Control (I&C) drawings in Revit, AutoCAD and Similar applications.The individual will be required to have knowledge in Instrumentation and Control System Design, Process Control Design, PLC Design, OIT and HMI Design, SCADA Network Design for various I&C systems in buildings in Canada (Municipal water and wastewater system, educational, light industrial, hospitals, etc.) Responsibilities Prepare I&C details and concept design drawings for various building and construction types to be built predominantly in Canada Responsible for Revit and CAD standards, implementation, and enforcement Design Schedules (I/O list, cable list, instrument lists, etc) Process control narratives (Work with process engineer to develop PCN from process narrative and P&ID, adhere to client standards and or templates) Commissioning documents (Commissioning plan, checklists, specifications etc), Shop drawing reviews Prepare contract drawings and specifications for tendering purposes. Control panel design (Power distribution, wiring schematics, loop drawings, bill of materials, specifications) Network design (Network architecture, specifications, bill of materials) Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD. Excellent working knowledge on Revit, BIM360 & ACC environment. Ability to work independently to deliver comprehensive designs and meeting deadlines. Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D drawings and models to assist with investigations of engineering problems. Agree priorities and deadlines for drawing production with iCRC-coordinator Automate routines to support standards and productivity Provide quality control for completeness and adherence to company standards of all drawings produced Assist in developing and enforcing BIM documentation and workflow process standards Input to the co-ordination of engineering services on projects Complete design sketches for information in tender documents for small / routine work Produce work to specified WSP in Canada BIM standards and suggest revisions to standards as appropriate Provide advice and coaching to technicians on intermediate Revit functions when requested Follow QA, document control, archiving guidelines on all work Work with project team members on specified aspects of the project Key Competencies / Skills / Qualifications 5 to 8 Years of hands-on Experience in Revit Working experience in US/Canadian BIM/CAD Projects Strong Focus on I&C Design such as, Process Control, PLC, OIT & HMI, SCADA Network, etc., Team management skills Good in English communication Experience on a number of projects across different sectors Willing to learn Desired Skills Experience in Co-ordination & Leading teams. Experience in Script and Lisp. Knowledge of Revit Electrical.

Preparation and review of Instrumentation Engineering Deliverables like: 3D Modelling of Instruments Panels, 3D Modelling of Instrument Junction Boxes, 3D Modelling of Electrical Lighting, Hook up drawings, JB Wiring Drawings, Lighting layout & sections Grounding layout Loop drawings, Logic drawings, Cable tray/Conduit layout Instrumentation & JB Location layout. Designing & drafting assignments associated with Instrumentation like Equipment layouts, Cable schedule, Installation drawings & Hookup detail drawings, Fire & Gas, etc
