As a System Administrator specializing in Wintel systems, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of Datacenter Services hosted on Windows servers with 24X7 availability. Your key tasks will include proactive monitoring of servers using BSE tools, tracking CPU & Memory utilization, monitoring Microsoft Windows Resources, Event logs, and critical services. Your role will involve reinstalling the OS in case of crashes and performing system restoration during failures or file system corruption. It will be crucial to correlate related incidents into problem tickets and manage them through the problem management process. Automating OS administration tasks where practical and patching OS for security updates will also be part of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you will be responsible for implementing best practice configurations based on vendor recommendations, managing Hyper-V environments, including creating, deleting, and configuring VMs and snapshots. You will also need to report VM performance status using monitoring tools, manage Hyper-V clusters, possess knowledge of SCVMM, perform basic IIS troubleshooting, manage access rights and folders, maintain server configuration details, and ensure OS hardening as per policy recommendations by BSE. Lastly, you will be in charge of server inventory management and managing Groups/Domains effectively.
