JOB TITLE: Engineer / Sr. Engineer / AM HPDC (Quality & Production) Reporting To: DGM – Quality / Manager – Production Department: Quality Assurance (HPDC) / Production (HPDC) JOB PURPOSE: To ensure effective production and quality in High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) operations through process optimization, defect control, quality compliance, and continuous improvement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Process & Production Management Optimize HPDC parameters (temperature, pressure, cycle time) for consistent output. Monitor machine operations and troubleshoot casting defects (porosity, cold shut, blow holes, flash). Support production planning, reduce downtime, and attend daily meetings. Coordinate die design, setup, preventive maintenance, and modifications. 2. Quality Assurance Inspect products during production and ensure adherence to standards (ISO 9001, IATF-16949). Analyze root causes (RCA, 7QC tools), document non-conformities, and prepare action reports. Support audits and customer complaint resolutions. 3. Documentation & Reporting Maintain production, quality records, SOPs, ECNs, checklists, and daily reports. Update A3/A4/Why-Why reports and maintain accurate inspection logs. 4. Training & Collaboration Train operators on standards and processes. Collaborate across teams to implement corrective/preventive actions and process improvements (Kaizen, Poka-Yoke). Attend DWM and quality/production meetings. 5. Safety & Compliance Enforce PPE use and EHS compliance. Promote 5S and report accidents with analysis. REQUIRED SKILLS: Technical: HPDC Process, Die Design Basics, 7QC Tools, Drawing Reading, A3 Reporting Soft Skills: Communication, Time Management, Problem Solving Behavioral: Teamwork, Decision Making, Conflict Resolution QUALIFICATIONS: Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Industrial Engineering Experience: Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing/HPDC environment
