Job Description

As a Hardware Design Engineer with 2+ years of experience, you will be responsible for the design, development, and validation of electronic circuits used in embedded, industrial, or power-based products. Your role will involve tasks such as schematic design, component selection, testing, and debugging. Additionally, you will provide support to cross-functional teams during prototyping, production, and field issue analysis. Your responsibilities will include designing analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits based on functional requirements. You will select appropriate components taking into consideration cost, availability, and performance. Furthermore, you will perform circuit level calculations, verify through prototyping, and maintain records. Collaboration with PCB designers for layout and routing will be essential to ensure design rules are met. In terms of testing and validation, you will assemble and test hardware prototypes in the lab. Validation of power rails, clock signals, digital interfaces, and I/O performance will be part of your routine tasks. You will be required to create test plans, document results in test reports, and collaborate with firmware and QA teams to resolve issues. Using tools like oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analyzer, and thermal camera for measurement and debugging will be crucial. Your role will also involve supporting firmware and embedded software teams during system-level integration and validation. You will be responsible for preparing and maintaining design documents such as schematics, BOM, test reports, and application notes. Additionally, you will support the manufacturing team during pilot builds or new product introductions and implement design revisions based on component changes or production feedback. In the event of field failures, you will analyze failed units returned from the field or production. Performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using electrical measurements, visual inspection, and schematic/layout analysis will be crucial. You will identify root causes, document RCA reports with supporting images, waveforms, and notes, and implement Corrective Actions. Furthermore, proposing and tracking Preventive Actions to avoid recurrence and updating design documentation will be part of your responsibilities. Participating in DFMEA, design reviews, and risk assessments, following internal design and documentation processes, and maintaining proper version control and file backups will contribute to your quality compliance efforts. Your technical skills should include a strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, experience with microcontroller-based designs, working knowledge of signal conditioning, and proficiency in schematic tools like Altium. Team collaboration, clear documentation, and communication skills are key soft skills required for this role.,
