General Manager Engineering

As a Deputy General Manager/ General Manager in the Design & Engineering department at Rotomotive Powerdrives India Ltd., you will be reporting to the Director of Design & Engineering. Your role will involve overseeing a team of 15-18 members, including Engineering Managers, Manager-Customer Support, and Manager-Quality. Your primary responsibility will be managing the entire product development process, from requirement analysis and finalizing specifications to design calculations, drawings, prototype building, and validation. You should be well-versed in electrical machine design, the use of VFDs, robotics, and familiar with simulation software such as ANSYS. Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software is preferred but not mandatory. In this role, you will be expected to design and implement processes to enhance production operations" efficiency, reduce wastages, and achieve cost savings. You will work closely with the Purchase Team, Quality department, and Manufacturing department to facilitate new product development and negotiate with vendors for new components or products. Collaboration with the marketing and sales teams is essential to build business cases, address service issues, and work on new products. You will monitor development projects, engage with customers for customized solutions, and ensure product cost goals are met. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation, including catalogues and product specifications. To be successful in this position, you should have a minimum of 20 years of experience with 10 to 17 years of relevant experience. A degree in BE/BTech/MTech Electrical is required, and in rare cases, a Mechanical Engineer may also be considered. Strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive innovation in product development are essential for this role.,
