Perform surgical procedures on the eye, such as cataract removal, laser eye surgery, and corneal transplants. Monitor patients during surgery to ensure safe administration of anesthesia and identify any adverse reactions or complications. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including optometrists and other ophthalmologists, to provide comprehensive care to patients with eye conditions. Provide emergency care to patients who require urgent intervention, such as trauma victims or patients with acute medical conditions. Document patient care and maintain accurate records of surgical procedures, patient progress, and any adverse reactions or complications.
