1 The Geomechanics Fracturing Modeling Specialist will provide fracture modeling support to enhance shale tight (ST) recovery, reduce cost, optimize completion designs, enable safe fracturing operations, reduce environmental risk, and safeguard the system integrity reliability. The position supports the construction, setup and execution of geomechanically models for hydraulic fracturing that are integral to ST business unit (BU) activities. Strong knowledge in fracture mechanics is required. Extensive experience in geomechanics, stimulation and reservoir simulation is required. Advanced degree in geomechanics or related discipline is required. A functional knowledge of shale and tight operations, the role geomechanics plays in them, and geomechanics related business decisions is required. Background in development of 1d or 3D Mechanical Earth Models (MEM) is preferred. The role brings together working subsurface knowledge and expertise in a growing technical area with significant impact to shale tight (unconventional) assets. The role requires close collaboration with subject matter experts and chapter managers in Chevron Technical Center to maintain workflow alignment. Key responsibilities: The position supports the construction, setup and execution of geomechanically models for hydraulic fracturing that are integral to ST business unit (BU) activities. Model construction and analyses are conducted to address geomechanically challenges for ST assets such as: hydraulic fracturing, fracture height growth, drainage height assessment, fracture driven interaction, job optimization including well and cluster spacing, landing point optimization etc. Populate hydraulic fracture models for ST assets with geological and geophysical data, rock properties, pump schedules, fluid rheology and, relevant pressure and temperature conditions under collaboration with relevant subject matter experts in Chevron Technical Center. Execute hydraulic fracture ST models, extract relevant data and manage results repository. Assess interactions between parent and child wells utilizing workflows that couple hydraulic fracture models, reservoir simulators and 4D MEM models. Required Qualifications: BS and MS in Earth science disciplines (Geology, Geophysics, Geomechanics) or Petroleum or equivalent Engineering 5-7 years of pertinent industry experience.
