Your tasks include leading belt and belt system PD projects, collaborating with other functions and departments, and focusing on formulation selection, component selection, construction development, and ownership to enhance belt functional and durability performance. You will be responsible for developing belt specifications, defining materials and process steps for prototype belt building, and coordinating with controlling for belt cost calculation. Additionally, you will define sample mold size, belt profile dimensions, and geometry, as well as manage development projects to ensure project targets are met. Regularly reviewing project status, assessing product requests, and working towards successful product launches are also key responsibilities. Furthermore, you will evaluate returned failed belts from customers and competitor belts to identify opportunities for belt construction improvements, conduct market-specific product benchmarking, and define specifications and test procedures for raw material suppliers. Collaborating with the Test Department to develop new test methods, submitting requests for prototype belt testing, and documenting test results for discussion with application engineering and internal customers are also part of your role. As for your profile, you should possess overall technical knowledge of power transmission systems at an expert level, advanced technical knowledge of product materials, and overall knowledge of belt development, physics, and manufacturing processes. Strong negotiation skills, project management skills, and a basic understanding of quality management methods and intellectual property are also required.
